Along with the green monster, we also painted several other of our common rooms “Silver Satin” by Benjamin Moore.  First, we freshened up the dingy shade of sand on the walls of our foyer and in the upstairs hallway.  In the mudroom, not only did we cover the the red walls but also the red ceiling.  Finally, we painted our butler’s pantry to unify it with the rest of the house and to conceal the holes that we patched after removing the track shelving.

This was not the most glamorous project to date but the result has provided us a fresh slate to create the look we want.  Our new home has great bones, and by toning down the palette, we are allowing it to come alive.
