I must confess that I got caught in the moment at the first of last year and rashly decided to paint our laundry room tangerine orange (the 2012 color of the year). Please refer back to https://projecthurt.wordpress.com/2012/01/16/hermes-does-our-laundry-who-does-yours/.

I have to admit I have never been super pleased with the result and orange really is not my color. As a result, I finally admitted that I was ready to repaint our laundry room. As much as I love emerald green (the 2013 color of the year), I decided not to repeat my mistake and to go with my instincts.

Inspired by my collection of jadite, I chose “light pistachio” by Benjamin Moore to cover our walls.

While I was at it, I decided to add a fresh coat of crisp white to the trim, closet door, and shelves.

A couple of framed black and white photos rescued from our attic along with a few of red accents completed the look.
