Even though my taste usually leans to the rustic side, I do like to go a bit more glamorous for the holidays.  This year I am attempting to combine my conflicting decorating styles.  What better place to start than the dining room table?

Inspired by a small remnant of luxurious silver velvet, I decided to make a table runner.  I created texture by sewing alternating stripes with velvet, raw linen, and burlap.

I customized the runner to span the length of our table and drape slightly over the ends.

I incorporated a pine cone garland to continue with the rustic theme.

And a shiny silver pumpkin to add a touch of glam.

And last but not least,  a pair of turkeys . . .

to get us in the Thanksgiving spirit.

Gobble, gobble!
